D-Wright is wearing his heart on his sleeve and his stressed-out late game facial expressions are reminiscent of those grimaces of Larry King. They are pressing and hurting and so are we!

david wright is probably still too young to be counted on; last night he needed to get a fly ball out and he wilted under the pressure. With runners in scoring position, we have a bunch of most vanishing players. Even a walk on like Ramon Martinez could come in and make a contribution in a big spot without choking.

meanwhile, the phillies mvp types year after year do what mvp's do: carry their teams to victory.

    i just can't believe they're extending Omar.

This team is a black hole.

I had a family medical emergency last night which arose 10 minutes after Carlos' grand slam. So I spent the rest of the evening in the ER, but thinking happy thoughts about the Mets.

Sadly I made the mistake of checking my blackberry at 2 am and saw IMFM's comment.

I hope your family is ok Katherine.

I'm glad you only heard the grandslam news before 2 am, for what its worth.

yes, thanks, everyone is fine here now, and I believe that a night amongst screaming babies, moaning elderly people and restrained psychiatric patients was positively enjoyable, compared to sitting at home watching the Mets lose that 5-1 lead.

Glad everything worked out OK in that medical situation and the Mets are a bit back off life support too after tonight's gutsy win. LAST SHEA SERIES BEGINS:(
