Off Day Rant: Major League Asshats

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Finally Mike Piazza and I have something we agree on, and it isn't our methods of dealing with Roidger Clemens or our tastes in music, facial hair or politics. Dumbass Roland Flores, 23, will spend 30 days in jail after his assault on Oakland Athletics designated hitter Mike Piazza on July 25 at Angels stadium. Flores threw a water bottle at Piazza, who then stopped the game while he identified the asshole to security. Piazza vowed to press charges and now he has.

Now Piazza is being mocked and attacked by the numb nuts over at something they call AOL "sports" (AOL still exists!?). Of course there are complete morons out there who defend the right of punks like this to throw things at a ballgame and those who think jail time is too extreme a punishment for breaking the law and being a douche, but that's just par for the course in a country filled with idiots. You can't throw a water bottle around here and not hit a jackass.

Message to fuck faces who think throwing things at a baseball game, at other fans and players, is within their rights...YOU'VE GOT MAIL: If you're incapable of grasping the fundamental rule of living in society--"don't throw shit at other people"--then I guess sharing a cell and bunk with a guy who rapes children will give you time to practice your self-control. This clown wanted law of the jungle, now he's got it!!

BallHype: hype it up!

I guess that's a wrap on your baseball career when the season begins and your name is in the headlines for getting some water bottle throwing muppet busted - then again, if you've just bought a $10 manse in Miami Beach and are married to a former playboy bunny I guess there isn't much out there left to prove...

Hey I really like your blog and posts about New York. What do you think about my blog in Mets Magic Team?

I'm not sure if you are joking or not, but I will add on a serious note, that prisonsers, no matter what they've done, should be safe. The whole notion that is pretty much considered a given by society, that those that have broken the law should have to face the hell of being a prisoner/slave to some other sick bastard that is his cellmate, I believe is very wrong. An excellent post as usual and if you were joking, at least I made my view of this known.

well Cver i'm with you on prisoner's rights, but i was reacting to the indignation i saw on the internets that these jerks should take responsibility or even be punished for endangering public safety...well I have less sympathy for them. When I go to a ballgame, i am sick of stepping into a Hobbesian jungle. Sick of watching people throw peanuts and beer at fans with children and elderly fans who happen to wear the colors of the opposition. Sick of listening to asshats scream profanity at the field for two hours. And I'm tired of there being no one to take this seriously. So I'm a bit conservative when it comes to the national past time.
